VODSKOV, Denmark-XMS Penvision and Blip Systems signed an agreement to work toward a digital pen-and-paper solution that would include Bluetooth access points.
The solution would entail a wireless pen that transfers written data from the paper to a back-end system via Bluetooth connections. Traditionally, digital pens transfer handwritten documents via mobile phones or personal computers, according to the companies.
The two companies will incorporate Blip Systems’ BlipNodes, which are small Bluetooth access points that can be mounted inside buildings.
Daniel Segui, business developer and founder of XMS Penvision, said two of the company’s partners are already in early phases of projects that will use the Blip Systems technology.
Sweden-based XMS Penvision is a digital pen-and-paper solutions provider. Blip Systems, based in Denmark, was formed in 2003 as a management buyout of L.M. Ericsson’s Bluetooth activities.
