CHICAGO-WiMAX equipment provider Aperto Networks launched and demonstrated its PacketMAX broadband wireless portfolio this week at the SuperComm show in Chicago.
The portfolio is based on an Advanced Telecom Computing Architecture chassis, said the company. Aperto plans to conduct WiMAX Forum lab certification starting next month and begin limited production shipments for 3.5 GHz systems during the third quarter of 2005. Products for 2.5 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies are expected to follow shortly, said the company.
The portfolio includes several choices of base stations, the company’s WaveMAX element management system, and a business-class and a consumer-class subscriber station.
US Wireless Online Inc., TowerStream, Iberbanda and Entertel are trialing Aperto’s new products.
Aperto also announced this week that US Wireless Online has begun deployments of the company’s 5.8 GHz WiMAX-class PacketWave systems.
