HELSINKI-Nokia Corp. and New World Mobility signed a $140 million agreement to expand New World Mobility’s Global System for Mobile communications 1800 network in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, China.
Nokia said it will deliver its mobile switching equipment, base stations, base station controllers, short message service centers and the Nokia NMS 2000 network management system to New World Mobility. Additionally, a range of customer services will be provided, including implementation, training and technical support.
Deliveries start immediately and the expansion is expected to be launched in August, said Nokia.
