SEATTLE-Tegic Communications and Optimay GmbH, a subsidiary of Lucent Technologies Inc., announced they signed a licensing agreement that allows Optimay to integrate the Chinese language version of Tegic’s T9 Text Input software with Optimay’s Global System for Mobile communications Phase 2 Protocol Stack and Man Machine Interface handset design software.
“The licensing agreement of Optimay and Tegic Communications will give Chinese GSM phone manufacturers an all-in-one solution for providing their customers with handsets that make Chinese character input on a wireless phone key pad more efficient than a desktop keyboard or handwriting,” said Dr. Hui Pan, chief economist for Information Gatekeepers Group.
