HELSINKI, Finland-Nokia Corp. unveiled Nokia Activ for its Wireless Application Protocol Server 1.1, a one-button solution enabling Web sites to send WAP service settings to WAP-enabled mobile phones wirelessly.
The service will allow consumers to click a Nokia Activ button on a Web site and type in their mobile-phone number. The settings of the service then are sent to the customer’s WAP phone as a text message.
“With Nokia Activ, we aim to provide a simple, cost-effective offering that is bound to boost the use of WAP applications and WAP-enabled devices,” commented Pertti Lounamaa, vice president of Nokia Internet Communications.
