Motorola enters relationship with Xybridge

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill.-Motorola Inc.’s Network Solutions Sector and Xybridge Technologies entered a strategic relationship to develop and integrate Xybridge’s Universal Services Suite softswitch solutions for mobility applications with Motorola’s Aspira architecture, an Internet Protocol-based solution for converged communications.

The solution is scheduled to be installed at customer sites during the fourth quarter to demonstrate the integration of open standards-based protocols with both third-generation and legacy wireless networks to validate the economics of lower equipment and operational costs.

In addition, Motorola invested $15 million for an equity position in Xybridge.
