LA JOLLA, Calif.—Sensoria Corp. launched the Sensoria Telematics Environment, a standards-based telematics platform that allows drivers to share music wirelessly between their PC and their car, obtain current weather information, find specific restaurant and business locations and access driving directions.
The platform enables communication between wireless devices and the in-vehicle components through Bluetooth and wireless local area network technologies, Sensoria said.
Applications such as automatic hands-free calling, voice recognition and text-to-speech capabilities also are hosted on the Sensoria Telematics Environment, which includes a server suite, client platform software and the mGate modular vehicle gateway.
Sensoria said it created a common set of application protocol interfaces and Web-based interfaces to support third-party software development for the Sensoria Telematics Environment, and new applications can be added and updated throughout the life of the car.
