BEIJING—New York’s CI Wave and Beijing’s Taiji Computer are jointly planning, developing and building a nationwide 3.5 GHz broadband fixed wireless access (BFWA) data network. CI Wave is also offering billing, maintenance and customer acquisition services.
Using high-capacity two to four base stations in each city, the network will bypass existing copper networks to deliver high-speed data services directly to buildings. Spectral reuse technology will provide the high capacity of more than 1 Gigabit needed for the largest cities.
According to CI Wave CEO Douglas Carey, China will have the world’s largest BFWA network in the near future.
