SAN DIEGO—While the Olympics may be in their own backyard, Salt Lake City residents who do not have tickets to events will be able to watch live coverage on the state’s largest movie screen thanks to Leap Wireless International Inc.
The wireless operator, which offers its Cricket service in the Salt Lake City area, said it will provide free broadcasts beginning at 6 p.m. nightly to residents at the six-story tall Cricket Superscreen as part of its Winter Viewfest celebration. The event will include interactive games, food and refreshments, contests, prizes and giveaways, pin trading, winter sports demonstrations, children’s face painting, inflatable rides and live music.
Leap also announced it recently expanded its Cricket service in the downtown Park City area where a number of Olympic events will be held.
