CALGARY—Cell-Loc, a developer of network-based wireless location technology, contracted Brazilian manufacturer PST Industria Eletronica de Amazonia to manufacture Cellocate beacon devices.
Under the agreement, PST is obligated to manufacture and sell Cellocate beacons exclusively to Cell-Loc. In addition, the two companies will form a venture to jointly develop the intellectual property for future generations of the product, including custom integrated circuits. The venture plans to produce a line of beacons specifically to enable location-based services, such as tracking, monitoring and messaging. Each company will hold 50 percent of the venture.
