NEW YORK-Price Communications Corp. shareholders approved the company’s $1.7 billion stock-for-stock sell to Verizon Communications Inc. The deal, which was originally negotiated in November 2000, is expected to close next month and will supply Verizon Wireless with approximately 500,000 customers and a TDMA network in the Southeast that it plans to switch to its own CDMA technology.
