BELLEVUE, Wash.-Western Wireless Corp. posted $315.8 million in total revenues for the third quarter including $228.5 million in domestic revenues and $87.3 million in international revenues. This was an increase from the $297.8 million the company reported for the third quarter of 2001.
Net losses totaled $15.9 million, a loss of 20 cents per share, compared with a $66.8 million loss last year, or a loss of 85 cents per share.
Western Wireless said it added 10,800 domestic wireless customers during the quarter and 50,900 net consolidated customers through its international operations.
Average revenue per user fell from $46.05 last year to $44.48 this year along with cash cost per user, which fell from $26.59 to $24.01. Customer churn remained steady at 2.5 percent, while cost per gross addition increased from $364 to $402.
