BEDMINSTER, N.J.-Verizon Wireless enhanced its online My Account customer service and billing option with text-messaging capabilities, allowing customers to have personalized alerts notifying them of specific account and billing activity sent to text messaging-enabled handsets.
The personalized alert categories include informing customers when their bills are ready to view online, confirmation that payments made online were processed, and confirmation that features have been updated or changes have been made to billing addresses.
“Customers have asked for these kinds of enhancements, and we have heard them,” noted Lowell McAdam, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Verizon Wireless.
Verizon Wireless recently reported that customers sent more than 3.6 billion text messages across its network during the first quarter of this year.
