HONG KONG-Hutchison 3G HK Ltd. and Nokia have been working together to deploy the core network equipment for Hutchison’s 3G W-CDMA network in Hong Kong.
Nokia said it is supplying equipment for both the circuit and packet core networks as well as the Nokia NetAct System for network management in compliance with the specifications of the 3G Partnership Project.
Hutchison Telecom is currently the largest mobile operator in Hong Kong, and Hutchison 3G HK is one of four Hong Kong operators granted 3G licenses. Nokia said it has been a supplier for Hutchison Telecom’s GPRS core network since 2000.
