c 14,800 in engineering and tech services.
Unemployment rates for computer programmers jumped to 6.2 percent in 2002, up from 4.5 percent in 2001.
U.S. high-tech venture capital declined by 52 percent in 2002.
Tech employment was down in all but three states in 2002.
Florida jumped to fourth place by high-tech employment in 2002, moving up from fifth place in 2001, displacing Massachusetts.
