OVERLAND PARK, Kan.-Fox News Channel stepped into the wireless arena Tuesday with a deal to provide live news coverage for Sprint PCS Vision users.
The carrier launched Fox News Channel Live, making the offering part of its $10-a-month Sprint TV service including news, sports and made-for-mobile film shorts. MobiTV provider Idetic Inc. powers the service, which was launched last August.
“This deal positions Fox News Channel to become a significant player in the wireless industry and is a great opportunity to expand the brand and reach to our loyal audience outside their homes,” said Jeremy Steinberg, Fox News’ director of digital media.
