ARLINGTON, Va.-The Consumer Electronics Association, which represents more than 2,000 corporate members, said it has created the Wireless Product Specialist Study Guide designed to aid the wireless retail community in training sales staff and provide better service to consumers.
CEA said the 200-page guide, which is free to CEA members or can be purchased for $30, includes an overview of the latest wireless technology, products and services, and includes various diagrams, charts and illustrations to assist sales associates.
The guide also includes more than 20 pages of job-aids, including retail selling tips based on various wireless handsets, service plans and customer needs.
“[The guide] gives retailers and their staff a constant reference point that equally will help the newest sales person and the wireless veteran to provide better, more consistent, more educated service to the consumer,” explained Mike Mohr, chairman of CEA’s wireless communications division.
The guide also includes a detailed glossary of industry terms and an index for quick reference. CEA added that it will offer online training in conjunction with the guide through www.CEAknowhow.com at no additional cost.
