LITTLE ROCK, Ark.-Alltel Corp. will partner with Kmart Corp. to sell wireless phones and service in kiosks at select Kmart stores. Alltel has kiosks at 43 stores in 15 states; Kmart operates about 415 stores within Alltel’s coverage area.
Terms were not disclosed for the two-year agreement.
“We are expanding the availability of our products and services to meet growing customer demand and providing Kmart stores another convenient service for their customers,” said Paul Bowersock, senior vice president of channel support for Alltel.
Alltel sales representatives will staff the kiosks. Alltel’s Greater, National and Total Freedom wireless calling plans will be available, as well as Alltel Axcess data services. Customers will also be able to pay their wireless bills at the kiosks in participating Kmart stores.
