LOS ANGELES–Mobile content and applications company Handango said it has experienced a significant increase in the number of repeat buyers of smart-phone applications through its In Hand on-device access service.
The company said repeat users trended toward applications that include IM+ for Research In Motion Ltd.’s BlackBerry OS, Agendus Professional for Palm OS and WorldMate Professional for Microsoft Corp.’s PocketPC OS. Handango said this trend marks a shift away from entertainment applications.
The company also said repeat users were attracted to premium content from providers like USA Today, The Weather Channel, Traffic.com and MarketWatch.
