NTELOS to refresh ad campaign

Regional telecommunications provider NTELOS Inc. announced plans for an overhaul to its advertising efforts, news that coincides with the company’s hiring of new advertising firm The Johnson Group. NTELOS said the marketing firm will create new internal and external ad campaigns within the next few months.
The new ad campaigns will feature a “heavy dose of alternative media and street team activity” as well as traditional broadcast and print media. The Johnson Group will also work on NTELOS’ online and retail marketing efforts.
“The Johnson Group offered a unique perspective on our brand position, ‘The Best Value,’ and demonstrated an understanding of how important it is to stand out with a strong, clear brand message,” said Rob Cale, chief of the company’s marketing efforts. “The Johnson Group also presented compelling ideas for communicating that strength creatively and through the use of unique media that will carry our value position through every aspect of our business.”
NTELOS is one of a number of telecommunication companies working on their advertising message; Sprint Nextel Corp. recently hired a new ad firm, and Verizon Wireless announced it will combine its advertising efforts with that of its wireline parent company, Verizon Communications Inc.
NTELOS sells telecom services in Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio and North Carolina.
