Silverback Media plc, a marketing agency that operates on mobile and online platforms, announced it has entered into a preliminary agreement to acquire a majority interest in Atlas Telecom Mobile, a content distribution company. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it is expected to close by the end of July.
The Toronto-based company said it plans to merge the operations of Atlas Telecom Mobile into its wireless North American business unit. The combined operations will offer integrated mobile marketing with direct connections to more than 45 wireless operators in North America, South America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia, according to Silverback.
“Atlas provides a very strong complement of products and services to our existing portfolio, with little overlap. It has successfully supported partners deploying unique mobile applications in addition to integrated audio-text campaigns with media partners in both Canada and the United States. We are looking forward to capitalizing on the expected synergies and added value with this acquisition,” said Martin Doane, CEO of Silverback Media plc.
