Snapfinger acquires LiveOnTheGo.com

Kudzu Interactive, the company behind Snapfinger, has acquired LiveOnTheGo.com and added 800 local restaurants to its mobile and online takeout service.
Schlotsky’s and The Yard House come to the Snapfinger through the acquisition along with 25,000 LiveOnTheGo.com users. For its part, Snapfinger has 3 million users and more than 28,000 restaurants already on board in more than 1,600 cities.
The company is working to grow its business in mobile in particular as it goes after the $50 billion takeout food market. The company has apps for Apple Inc.’s iOS and Google Inc.’s Android platforms.
“Our goal is to give all restaurants, large and small, the ability to have a mobile and online presence for little to no upfront investment,” said Snapfinger CEO Jim Garrett. “We already have a solid reputation working with some of the largest national chains. This acquisition strengthens our offering to include independent restaurants that might not otherwise have the resources to offer their customers a way to order takeout food while on the go. This move reflects a new initiative the company is taking to expand our reach into local markets nationwide and to give independent restaurant owners an opportunity to compete with larger restaurants on a level playing field.”
