Six groups join CompTIA’s RFID certification initiative

OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill.-Six organizations have joined the Computing Technology Industry Association’s RFID certification initiative, which is focused on developing a vendor-neutral certification in radio-frequency identification technology.

The groups include the Association for Automatic Identification and Mobility (AIM Global), FC Business Systems, Intermec Technologies Corp., OTA Training, ScanSource Inc. and Texas Instruments Inc.

“Organizations can more readily determine the ability of their business partners to deliver RFID solutions through the use of an industry-accepted certification,” said David Sommer, vice president of electronic commerce at CompTIA. “Customers will have more confidence in working with solutions providers with demonstrated and validated expertise in RFID. The industry as a whole will be better equipped to deliver more RFID implementations, producing more revenue for individual companies using the certification.”
