A wireless operator in Maldives is deploying three of Openwave Systems Inc.’s (OPWV) traffic management solutions. Privately held Wataniya Telecom Maldives plans to deploy Openwave’s Integra, Media Optimizer and Web Optimizer solutions.
The operator is part of Wataniya Telecom, which offers commercial service in Kuwait, Maldives, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Algeria and Palestine. Qatar Telecom owns 51% of the operator. It is deploying the traffic management solutions to more effectively optimize web and video content over its 3G network, with the ultimate goal of saving on bandwidth, Openwave said.
