Infrastructure revenues to increase through 2007, study says

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.-Research Group Dell’Oro Group said infrastructure market revenues increased to $36.1 billion in 2004, amounting to a 26-percent leap over the prior year.

The report expects revenues to grow up to 2007 when expenditure will plateau at $39 billion until 2009. The group also expects revenues from W-CDMA and CDMA to offset GSM revenues decline through 2009.

“Although we expect increased investment in W-CDMA technology through 2009, we are forecasting a 58-percent increase in revenues in 2006 from major W-CDMA deployments as Cingular expands its W-CDMA network in the United States and service providers in China build new 3G networks,” commented Greg Collins, senior director of mobile infrastructure research at Dell’Oro Group.
