    • Japanese telecom and Internet giant SoftBank is the first to license General Electric’s Predix platform, which supports industrial web applications. GE expects the deal will drive predictive services revenue past the $1 billion mark. SoftBank plans on developing targeted apps for industries such as shipping and manufacturing.
    • Vodafone has extended 4G roaming to a total of 40 countries. Vodafone already has 23 countries on the list and has added 17 more including Japan, Saudi Arabia and Mexico.
    • Qulalcomm has invested $40 million in Chinese companies working on mobile tech. The money is going to 7Invensun, an eye-tracking solution provider; Chukong Technologies, which provides mobile entertainment; and Inplug, a company that focuses on NFV devices, voice recognition and processing.
