NEW YORK-Mobile marketing company Swagger Wireless said Friday it will offer a series of promotional applications for an upcoming U.S. tour by singer Alicia Keys.
Swagger, which specializes in urban-themed mobile offerings, will produce ringtones, beats and other content created exclusively for handsets, as well as create and manage a “mobile fan club” for the singer. Founded just five months ago, the company staged a text-to-screen campaign during a tour by hip-hop artist Jay-Z late last year.
“This is another stepping stone in the growing buildout of mobile loyalty programs for the urban market, both in terms of how the musical artist sells the concept and how the program reaches beyond traditional hip-hop audiences, both as a result of word-of-mouth buzz around this campaign and given Alicia’s crossover appeal,” said Loreal Coppedge, co-founder of Swagger.
