InPhonic to support AT&T’s MVNO service

WASHINGTON-Online wireless service and device retailer InPhonic Inc. reported a two-year agreement to provide subscriber management systems in support of AT&T Corp.’s launch of wireless voice and data services to enterprise customers. AT&T’s wireless service, which is expected to launch later this year and was announced last year, will be a mobile virtual network operator offering using Sprint PCS’ network.

As part of the agreement, InPhonic said it will deliver the systems platform for procurement, activation, billing and customer care, as well as self-service platforms based on Web and speech-recognition technology. InPhonic will also provide its mobile data platform to support over-the-air activation, mobile Web and advanced wireless messaging capabilities.

“AT&T is launching a broad array of voice and data mobility services in the first half of 2005 that are ‘built for business,'” said Kevin Crull, senior vice president and general manager for wireless service at AT&T. “We will leverage a best-in-class set of suppliers, including Sprint and InPhonic, to deliver a suite of solutions exclusively built for business that will seamlessly integrate the delivery of mobility services.”
