PALM SPRINGS, Calif.-SBC Communications Inc. reported a deal a the City of Palm Springs and Q3 Telecom to launch SBC FreedomLink Wi-Fi service at the Palm Springs International Airport. The deployment is expected to include six Wi-Fi hot spots that will be spread throughout the airport, including all gates, ticket and rental car counters, along with baggage claim areas.
SBC also provides Wi-Fi services at the Bob Hope International Airport in Burbank, Calif.; Evansville-Vanderburgh Airport in Evansville, Ind.; Cleveland International Airport; Little Rock National Airport; and Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport.
SBC’s Wi-Fi service is available for $20 per month for unlimited access, or customers can access the service for $8 for a 24-hour period. The company also offers a $2 per month, unlimited access option for its digital subscriber line customers with a one-year contract.
