TORONTO-Bell Canada and BridgePort Networks said they have agreed to develop and trial Internet Protocol technology that integrates fixed and mobile voice services.
The solution will provide seamless connectivity through one handset, one number and one mailbox, said BridgePort. BridgePort’s solution integrates Bell Mobility’s CDMA 1x network with Bell Sympatico’s DSL wireless home network. Service will be delivered via IP-enabled terminals in the home and dual-mode CDMA and Wi-Fi wireless devices.
The technical trial is scheduled to begin in the first half of next year.
