PalmOne opens Calif. retail store for Treos

MILPITAS, Calif.-PalmOne Inc. said it opened a retail store in a mall in San Jose, Calif., designed specifically to sell its line of Treo smart phones. PalmOne also operates 13 other retail outlets nationwide, which sell its smart phone and personal digital assistant devices.

“To support this level of interest, the new Treo Store offers an attractive and comfortable environment where potential customers can interact with and buy Treo smart phones and a wide range of software and accessories,” said John Hartnett, vice president of the company’s eCommerce and accessory solutions. “As in all the award-winning PalmOne Retail Stores, the Treo Store offers a high-quality brand experience and is staffed by expert consultants who educate customers about PalmOne solutions.”

In other handset news, Motorola Inc. said RadioShack will exclusively offer its V260. The handset, which supports Verizon Wireless service, will sell for $50 with rebates.
