Who’s hiring small cell engineers?

With small cell momentum on the rise, an increasing number of companies are seeking engineers with experience in both distributed antenna systems and other small cell technologies.

RCR Wireless News rounded up a sampling of recent listing of companies who are looking for small cell engineers, including:

-T-Mobile US has more than a dozen openings in its technology group, some of which involve “alternative coverage” experts (i.e., small cells and DAS); designing and testing various aspects of small cell, DAS and microwave networks; and technology sourcing for last-mile solutions for small cell networks.

-Crown Castle has dozens of both temporary and full-time engineering-focused positions open, seeking everything from tower technicians, outdoor DAS and small cell project managers within specific geographic areas, to RF engineers to work specifically on small cell networks.

-Goodman Networks is looking for DAS and small cell engineers to work at its Plano, Texas, headquarters as well as locations in New Hampshire and Georgia.

-Among its many open positions seeking small cell skills, Mobilitie is looking for regional DAS design and engineering managers in Atlanta and Chicago; a DAS design engineer in Newport Beach, California; and RF engineers for both macro and small cell sites to work out of either Atlanta, Chicago or Newport Beach.

-LCC is looking to help a wireless carrier fill indoor wireless network engineering jobs, utilizing DAS and small cells, in Cleveland and Concord, California.

-Randstad Engineering has more than half-dozen openings for contract DAS and/or small cell engineers, in locations ranging from Denver to Houston and New Jersey.

-Staffing agency Kineticom has a handful of listings specifically seeking RF engineers for DAS and small cells, with openings across the country.

-Recruiting firm Blue Signal is looking for a RF DAS engineer in California on behalf of a DAS OEM and services provider; a sales engineering manager for in-building products in Illinois; and a national integrator looking for a similar position for DAS and small cells in their southeast region.

-ExteNet Systems is hiring a senior manager for network engineering with a focus on DAS and small cells.

-For those looking for research opportunities, Bell Labs (now part of Nokia Networks) is looking for a research scientist to work in the area of small cell networks. And for students just getting started in the industry, Nokia Networks has a number of both research intern and small cell hardware intern positions available to do circuit evaluation and prototype testing.
