CAMBRIDGE, United Kingdom-GCT, a location company headquartered in Spain, and Cambridge Positioning Systems have launched a joint development program that calls for GCT to integrate CPS’s Matrix location technology into its devices and applications.
The devices, marketed under GCT’s Tekel brand, are designed to fit into a pocket or in the palm of the hand and are suitable for vehicle, personal, asset and pet tracking. GCT also will use Matrix in its application middleware platform, which is used by a number of European operators, according to the companies.
GCT plans to launch several Matrix-enabled products later this year. The companies are also working together on marketing, with a strong focus on Latin America.
