BEDMINSTER, N.J.-Smith Micro Software Inc. will provide support for Verizon Wireless’ new VZAccess Manager, the two companies announced Friday.
Using technology from Smith Micro, VZAccess Manager is a customizable tool that allows customers to manage their remote access needs nationwide. It is a single, unified application supporting Verizon’s Broadband Access (EV-DO) and NationalAccess (1xRTT) data services and the customers’ own Wi-Fi and dial-up via IS-95A networks.
The new design will add a virtual private network connection and other features that can be launched directly from the main application. VZAccess Manager will ship on select PC Cards and be included in Verizon Wireless’ Mobile Office Kits.
