MURRAY, Ky.-Cingular Wireless L.L.C. has activated a new cell site on the Murray State University campus to provide enhanced coverage and capacity there and in surrounding areas.
According to Cingular, the new site, which is co-located on an existing structure, enhances signal strength and increases capacity by 70 percent. Cingular commended MSU for its cooperation in installing the site.
“We knew this site was important to the community as well as the campus,” said David Blackburn, director of procurement services at MSU. “When Cingular activated this site, they not only enhanced the on-campus wireless experience, they also improved overall coverage and E-911 services to the Murray area, something that is important for the safety of the community.”
