MILPITAS, Calif.-PalmOne Inc. announced the opening of a store in Philadelphia International Airport that will distribute wireless devices, including its Zire and Tungsten handhelds, Treo smart phones and accessories.
PalmOne has 10 other stores, located in airports and shopping malls in California, Maryland, Massachusetts and New Jersey. The stores, including the newest, were opened as part of a pilot program launched in October 2002.
“The surprise of seeing and interacting with our products in open-air mall settings or attractive airport locations is working,” said John Hartnett, vice president of PalmOne Stores Worldwide. “Half of our PalmOne store customers tell us they bought on impulse, and we’re attracting an excellent mix of new clientele and loyalists.”
