Venture capital financing wrap-up: Bluepulse, Movida, Telegent and more

The following list includes venture capital and other investments into wireless companies announced during the past week. The value of the investment is included when available.
–Bluepulse: VantagePoint Venture Partners invested $6 million into mobile social networking company Bluepulse
–MocoSpace: General Catalyst Partners led a $3 million Series A funding into MocoSpace, a mobile community network. Also participating were Pilot Group and eBay executive Michael Dearing. The company said the funding will support growth of its service. The company said it has established its headquarters in Boston as part of the funding.
–Movida: Plainfield Asset Management L.L.C. and The Cisneros Group of Companies led a $40 million round of funding into prepaid wireless provider Movida Communications Inc. The company said it will use the funds for additional working capital and to sustain its growth.
–Solido: Golden Opportunities Fund led a $6.5 million funding round into Solido Design Automation. Ulrich Felbermayr, senior investment manager with Golden Opportunities Fund, joined the company’s board of directors in connection with the funding. Solido said it will use the funding to accelerate development and deployment of its transistor-level statistical design and verification software technology. Also participating in the funding round were BDC Venture Capital, Victoria Park Capital and private investors. The company’s total funding stands at $9 million.
–Telegent: Northern Light Venture Capital participated in a $20 million third-round financing into Telegent Systems, which makes a single-chip mobile TV solution. The company said all of its existing investors also participated. Telegent said its total outside funding now totals $50 million. The company said it plans to use the funds to expand its product line and to increase its international sales presence. Feng Deng, managing director of Northern Light, has taken a position on Telegent’s board or directors as part of the financing.
