L.M. Ericsson’s board of directors has appointed three new executive vice presidents effective immediately. The company also announced that its first executive vice president and deputy chief executive officer, Per-Arne Sandstrom, has decided to retire.
The new vice presidents include Kurt Jofs as head of business units access, Bert Nordberg as head of sales and marketing, and Bjorn Olsson as head of business units systems.
The company said Sandstrom’s retirement follows the completion of Ericsson’s restructuring program, of which he has been described as the driver. The company said the 100-week program brought great savings.
“This is a fantastic achievement, which we would probably never have been able to accomplish without Per-Arne Sandstrom’s perseverance, professionalism and devotion to Ericsson and the telecom industry,” said Carl-Henric Svanberg, president and CEO of Ericsson.
