MORRISTOWN, N.J.-AT&T Corp. has named Kevin Crull senior vice president and general manager of wireless services, underscoring the company’s efforts to re-enter the wireless market.
“The wireless industry’s consolidation has opened an opportunity for us to advance our strategic intent and become an even more fully integrated communications services provider for both businesses and consumers,” said David Dorman, AT&T’s chairman and chief executive officer. “As such, we’ve been pleased with the high level of interest expressed by several leading wireless firms to partner with us and leverage our strong distribution channel.”
“AT&T, with its strong industry brand, already has tens of millions of business and consumer relationships supported by world-class channels and industry-leading operations that are delivering an unsurpassed portfolio of services to the marketplace,” added Dorman.
AT&T spun off its wireless division, AT&T Wireless Services Inc., in 2001. When that stand-alone company’s merger with Cingular Wireless L.L.C. is complete, the AT&T Wireless moniker will be up for grabs should AT&T Corp. choose to re-enter the market in some form.
Crull previously served as senior vice president of marketing and sales at AT&T’s consumer division.
