Change is in the air for two wireless content companies: Both mobile gaming company Vollee Inc. and messaging firm fastmobile Inc. announced new chief executives. Vollee will now be helmed by Martin Dunsby, while Marc Zionts will join fastmobile as the company’s new president and CEO.
Dunsby, the former senior VP at Openwave Systems Inc., comes to Vollee with 15 years of experience in the industry. He’ll be tasked with leading the company as it launches its streaming video game services to carriers worldwide.
“Martin will help to ensure Vollee’s position as a global player in the mobile gaming industry,” said Yossi Hasson, Vollee’s chairman of the board and acting CEO. “Martin brings deep knowledge in the mobile applications field, experience managing a rapidly growing business, as well as an extensive network of ties with mobile operators around the world.”
Dunsby said Vollee has an “exciting opportunity to lead the next generation of ‘always connected’ rich mobile devices. By leveraging the power of 3G networks, Vollee is able to offer subscribers a radically improved mobile gaming experience-it’s a landscape-changing solution.”
Zionts, who most recently served as CEO at Cantata Technology, comes to fastmobile with more than 20 years experience in the industry. He will continue to serve as vice chairman of Cantata.
“I’m very pleased to join this talented team. I’ve had experience looking at technology companies for the last 20 years, and I see a tremendous opportunity with fastmobile to deliver a truly industry leading solution for integrating IM, e-mail and other messaging types,” he said.
“Marc has tremendous experience growing telecom companies and developing new markets. We are excited to bring his talent and expertise to fastmobile to accelerate the momentum we have gained in the market and guide our growth,” said Dixon Doll of Doll Capital Management.
