STOCKHOLM, Sweden-L.M. Ericsson said it has won a $32 million contract with a Ghanaian carrier to supply what it describes as the first EDGE equipment in Africa.
The deal also comprises GSM networking technologies like WAP and multimedia services.
“The new equipment order from Ericsson will provide the Ghanaian operator with additional capacity, new services to offer clients as well as an extra layer of reliability and the potential to expand their network far beyond any other operational network in Africa,” said the wireless vendor.
