NEC launches 3GPP-compliant SIP

TOKYO, Japan-NEC Corp. said it has launched its 3GPP-compliant Internet Protocol multimedia subsystem, which integrates voice and data services together on one platform, using the session initiation protocol.

“With NEC’s SIP gateways, mobile operators can deploy IMS services much more broadly across a combination of SIP and non-SIP terminals,” said the company.
