BIRMINGHAM, United Kingdom-Wireless application and software company Silicon Village Mobile announced a new suite of technologies the company said will allow camera-phone users to encrypt their picture messages. The technology will ensure the security of messages within the healthcare, legal, financial and law enforcement areas, the company said.
“Mobile phones are being increasingly used to transmit and receive sensitive material,” said Tony King, a partner in Silicon Village Mobile. “If the phone is lost, or messages are intercepted, or sent to the wrong recipient, the potential issues of liability are very serious indeed. Fortress Suite addresses those issues where confidentiality is a must. For the first time, professional camera users can send documents and imagery between handsets and to personal computers, confident their confidential information is encrypted end-to-end.”
The company’s encryption products also cover wireless text messages and e-mail and work over Symbian-based mobile phones. The company’s product suite starts at about $168.
