LUBBOCK, Texas-Sprint PCS affiliate Alamosa Holdings Inc. posted $168.2 million in revenues during the fourth quarter of 2003, surpassing the $149.1 million the carrier reported for the last three months of 2002. Full-year revenues also increased from $555.7 million in 2002 to $631.1 million last year.
Net losses improved during the fourth quarter from $25.6 million in 2002, a loss of 27 cents per share, to $8.5 million last year, a loss of 9 cents per share. Full-year losses also improved from $403.3 million in 2002, a loss of $4.33 per share, to $75.2 million last year, a loss of 80 cents per share.
Net customer additions during the fourth quarter increased from 31,000 new subscribers in 2002 to 34,000 net additions last year, while full-year customer growth slumped nearly 12 percent from 119,000 subscribers in 2002 to 105,000 customer additions last year. Alamosa said it ended 2003 with approximately 727,000 total subscribers.
Fourth-quarter customer churn decreased from 3.4 percent in 2002 to 2.5 percent last year, while average revenue per user fell 3.5 percent from $57 to $55.
