Verizon Wireless announced that it has partnered with Fujifilm USA Inc. to provide its customers with Fujifilm’s “Get the Picture Online Service Network,” an online photo-printing service that allows users to print camera-phone photos at various retail outlets.
Customers will have more than 10,000 retail locations to choose from for the photo printing service, including Walgreens, Longs Drugs and Ritz Camera. Verizon Wireless customers can manage and print their photos from the carrier’s Web site via their phone or PC, and can search for the nearest photofinishing location by entering their zip code. Customers may also choose to have the pictures delivered.
“The quality of digital camera phones has dramatically increased over the past year. By partnering with wireless carriers like Verizon Wireless, we’re enabling customers to capture, and print their memories wherever they are. We’re also enabling our retail photofinishing customers to benefit from the increasing demand for digital camera phone prints,” said John Prendergast, vice president of product and system development at Fujifilm’s photo imaging division.
Several carriers already offer such services, including Sprint Nextel Corp.
