SAN JOSE, Calif.-Mobile-phone design company Cellon said it managed to cut its product design times down from 18 months to less than six months using product design efficiencies from Agile Software Corp. and BearingPoint Inc.
Cellon used the Agile Product Collaboration to improve its mobile-phone design process. Agile offers product lifecycle management solutions, and BearingPoint is a consulting and systems integration firm.
“Faster time-to-market is the most important element of our value proposition to clients,” said Yannick Le Nue, vice president of engineering at Cellon. “As such, it’s crucial for us to take advantage of every opportunity to streamline product design and process management, and our implementation of Agile Product Collaboration is part of this effort.”
Cellon is an independent design and development house for wireless modules and terminals and has shipped nearly 14 million units since 1999. The company designs products for Philips, Siemens-Xelibri and others.
