Sprint Nextel Corp. announced a new senior vice president of strategy as the company tries to turn around and its recent poor performance.
Jack Dziak, who has worked for MCI Communications and Accenture, and was most recently senior vice president of services and distribution for Mobile Satellite Ventures LP, will take over the position on Feb. 5. Dziak will report to CEO Gary Forsee and will “assume responsibility for driving Sprint Nextel’s three-year strategic plan,” according to the carrier.
“Jack is a seasoned industry veteran with expertise that cuts across industries,” Forsee said. “He brings a wealth of talent to Sprint Nextel with his expertise in mobility solutions and next generation innovation.”
The former senior VP of strategy, Atish Gube, is moving to the role of senior vice president of mobile broadband operations in the carrier’ mobile broadband business unit.
Sprint Nextel has announced several management changes recently after it revealed weak fourth-quarter customer metrics and increasing losses of valuable iDEN customers last week. The carrier appointed a new vice president of customer care, and Forsee has said that Sprint Nextel will seek a new chief operating officer during this quarter.
