U.S. partially agrees with Europeans over navigational systems

WASHINGTON-The European Commission and the United States said that progress was made in talks last week (month for the paper) that will allow the European Galileo navigational system to co-exist with the satellite global positioning system used in the United States.

The first agreement was on a “mutually acceptable modulation for Galileo Public Regulated Service,” reads the joint statement.

The meetings were held in The Hague, The Netherlands.

Further talks are expected, said the joint statement signed by Heinz Hilbrecht, head of the European Union delegation, and Ralph Braibanti, head of the U.S. delegation.
