SAN MATEO, Calif.-Mobile game publisher Digital Chocolate Inc. welcomed six new investors as it scooped up $22.5 million in Series C funding.
New investor Bridgescale Partners led the round; other newcomers included Outlook Ventures, Mantagu Newhall, DN Capital, Glynn Capital Management and CHI Capital. Four existing investors also joined the round.
Digital Chocolate, which has raised $43.8 million since its 2003 launch, specializes in community-based games and social applications.
“This new financing round will allow us to fuel our expansion plans even further,” said Chief Executive Officer Trip Hawkins. “The level of investment in this round, by first-quality new and existing investors, further validates our differentiating strategy in mobile games.”
Hawkins founded Electronics Arts.
