Nokia Siemens Networks launched a software solution that allows mobile operators to analyze customer usage patterns and business performance of new offers. The charge@once software provides immediate feedback via a set of predefined reports and dashboards. The solution addresses revenue analysis, customer segmentation, and service and product use.
Prepaid provider PlatinumTel Wireless announced a new service plan, which is an a la carte prepaid plan. The Real PayGo plan charges include 5 cents per minute for talk time, 2 cents per text message, 10 cents per megabyte for mobile Web usage and 10 cents per picture message. Plans are available in $10, $20, $30, $50 and $100 increments and feature free long distance, free on-network roaming and free voicemail, caller ID, call waiting and three-way calling.
QuickPlay Media Inc. said its PrimeTime2Go mobile TV service is available on Android-powered Motorola phones, including the Motorola CLIQ, BACKFLIP, CLIQ XT and DROID models. The service will be available to Motorola customers in the United States via download from the Android Market and will be available on additional models in the coming months, said the company.
TMNG Global introduced an automated device recapture service called SmartXchange that helps carriers collect and re-use handsets and other devices. The service uses TMNG’s Ascertain software to allow carriers to target handsets that are valuable to their business operations or to provide incentives to their customers to return unwanted handsets for resale opportunities or for environmental purposes. The service can be integrated with loyalty programs or company gift card programs, said TMNG.
Mobile media company BuzzCity launched The Djuzz Catalogue, which allows its partners to create their own branded games portal by syndicating content already available on the Djuzz site. The Djuzz Catalogue provides access to more than 5,000 games that can be customized for each partner’s particular audience, said the company.
GreatCall Inc. said it has expanded its retail distribution with a deal that calls for the Meijer chain of stores to carry its line of Jitterbug J cell phones. The handsets will be available at nearly 200 Meijer stores in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky.
YWaiter, which provides a location-aware mobile dining application, said it will be exhibiting and offering special incentives at the National Restaurant Association’s NRA Show 2010 May 22-25 in Chicago. YWaiter allows restaurants to promote their business with customer acquisition and retention programs, customizable branding and marketing and other tools. Customers who use YWaiter are able to find nearby restaurants and bars, make reservations, place orders and more.
Apisphere Inc. said it developed a custom application for Ogilvy & Mather’s Digital Lab in New York. The company’s Location Smart Messaging product features Apisphere’s Mobile Services Platform and Apisphere Express, which is an open integrated development environment that allows the agency to demonstrate Location Smart Messaging services. The technology allows marketers to deliver audio and video messages, coupons, test alerts, games and sweepstakes in location contextual solutions, said the company.
